Working the queue: Waiting and Decided
Two tabs that never mix, two buttons on every row, and the status words guests and staff see.
- Waiting: nobody has decided yet. A line above the list shows how long the oldest item has waited, and each department chip shows how many are waiting. On the Offers page this tab is called Waiting for you.
- Decided: everything with an outcome, newest first, with who decided and when.
Every row has the same two buttons:
- Confirm asks once ("Confirm and tell the guest?") and then tells the guest.
- Reject asks once ("Reject and tell the guest?") and tells the guest it cannot be done.
- You can add a note to either.
A confirmed order is done; there is no separate delivery step. Assigning a request to someone is not a decision: it stays under Waiting until someone confirms or rejects it.
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Waiting | Nobody has decided yet (listed under the Waiting tab) |
| Confirmed | A member of staff confirmed it; the guest was told |
| Rejected | A member of staff rejected it; the guest was told and nothing was charged |
| Cancelled by guest | The guest cancelled before anyone decided |
| Not accepted in time | Nobody confirmed it within the acceptance time. Nothing was charged |
| Closed | Closed without a staff decision |
The sidebar badges and the bell count everything waiting across requests, orders, room charges and offers, so one glance tells you if anyone is waiting.
