PMS requirements

Which PMS Phil connects to, what access each one needs, and how charge posting is switched on.

Phil connects to Mews, apaleo, Cloudbeds, Oracle® OPERA Cloud and Beds24. A connected PMS is required; we set it up with you during onboarding.

  • Reads stays (arrivals, room moves, check-in and checkout) and room types.
  • On the Revenue plan, posts room charges to the guest's bill.

How charge posting is switched on#

  1. We connect the PMS with the access above and check that stays and room types read correctly.
  2. You pick a test reservation (a house-use or test booking in a room you do not sell), and we post one test charge to it and take it off again.
  3. Once that works, charge posting is switched on for your property. Only charges confirmed after that moment are posted, so nothing your desk already keyed in is billed twice.

For orders paid through the room folio, when your team confirms an order, the charge goes on the guest's room bill: Foyer posts it to your PMS once charge posting is switched on for your property, and until then your front desk adds it in the PMS.

When the PMS refuses a charge#

Foyer posts the charge right after the decision. If the PMS refuses it, the charge shows on the Orders page at once, under Room charges, with the reason, and Foyer tries again on each PMS sync (about every 15 minutes), up to 8 times. The desk can retry it at once or mark it done by hand.
