Desk tablet and sign-in at the desk

Pair a guest-facing tablet at the desk, and put a guest's stay on their phone with a one-time QR before they leave.

Two things help the front desk at check-in: a tablet on the desk facing the guest (the guest screen), and Sign in at the desk, a one-time QR that opens the guest's stay on their phone with nothing to type.

Sign in at the desk#

What to say: "Scan to open your stay. No app needed."

  1. Find the guest: Guests, Arrivals and stay codes, then More and Sign in at the desk. Or Sign in on the Guest profile or in the Inbox guest panel.
  2. Show the QR to the guest: turn your screen, or use the guest screen, which shows it by itself. The guest scans it with the phone camera and lands in their stay.
  3. Wait for Signed in, then press Done.
  4. Each QR works once, for 10 minutes. New QR makes another one and cancels the last. Print gives a paper copy that also lasts 10 minutes.
  • Works for guests in house and for confirmed bookings arriving today or tomorrow. Never after checkout.
  • Front desk and concierge staff, team leads, managers and admins can sign guests in.
  • For the counter, print the desk card from Rooms, Hotel QR.

Pair a guest screen#

  1. On the desk's own computer, signed in as a manager, open Hotel and Guest screen.
  2. Name the screen, for example Desk 1, and press Add guest screen. A QR and a 6-digit code appear, valid for 10 minutes.
  3. On the tablet, scan the QR. It opens Connect this screen. Type the code and press Connect.
  4. The dashboard says the screen is connected. The tablet stays paired until someone presses Unpair.

Pair from the browser the desk uses to sign guests in. A sign-in QR shows on the guest screen only when it was made from the same desk computer.

What the guest sees#

  • Between guests: the hotel name, the hotel's current offers one at a time, and the hotel QR with Scan to open your stay.
  • During a sign-in: Scan to sign in, with the guest's own QR. After the scan, You're in for a few seconds.
  • The screen never shows a guest's name or room.
  • If the connection drops, it shows Reconnecting to the front desk.
