1.Who sends these texts#
Foyer Intelligence LLC ("Foyer"), a Colorado company, runs the guest app and sends its text messages on behalf of the hotel named in each message. Foyer does not provide or resell telephone service and never holds guest funds.
Stay texts (your stay link and code, and updates on your requests) come from one Foyer toll-free number, 1-866-81-FOYER (1-866-813-6937), on behalf of each hotel that uses Foyer. Each starts with the hotel's name followed by "via Foyer".
Foyer texts hotel staff only one-time sign-in codes, through Twilio Verify. Staff alerts are never texted: they go to the hotel's Telegram groups and the Foyer dashboard.
2.What we text#
Guests staying at a hotel that uses Foyer get texts about their own stay only: the stay link and access code at check-in, a sign-in verification code when they open the app on a new device, and updates on their own orders and requests. No marketing.
Sign-in codes are sent through Twilio's verification service, which may use its own numbers and its own wording ("Your Foyer verification code is ..."). A STOP to the Foyer number stops them too.
For example, at a hotel called Seaside Inn:
- Seaside Inn via Foyer: Welcome! Order food, towels and more: foyerintelligence.com/s/4Hq8Lm2ZtR7vXc9KpW3nYb Code: 482913 Reply STOP to opt out
- Seaside Inn via Foyer: Your room service order was accepted at 8:42 PM. Details: foyerintelligence.com/stay Reply STOP to opt out
3.How guests agree#
A guest gives their mobile number to the hotel when booking or at check-in. The hotel's registration card or booking form shows this line next to the phone number:
"By giving your mobile number, you agree to receive text messages from Foyer about your hotel stay, such as your stay code, sign-in codes and updates on your requests. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Terms: foyerintelligence.com/terms. Privacy: foyerintelligence.com/privacy."
The guest app's sign-in page (foyerintelligence.com/enter) says the same:
"We text your stay code and updates on your requests to the mobile number on your booking, from Foyer for your hotel (1-866-81-FOYER), and sign-in codes through Twilio's verification service. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."
A number is never required to stay. Without one, the front desk gives the stay code, or the guest scans the QR code in the room.
4.Frequency and cost#
Message frequency varies. Usually 1 to 3 texts per stay. Msg & data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
5.Stop or get help#
- Reply STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) to stop. STOP gets one reply confirming no more texts will come from this number, for any hotel. START turns them back on. The reply: "You have successfully been unsubscribed from Foyer. You will not receive any more messages from this number. Reply START to resubscribe." You can still use the guest app or ask the front desk.
- Reply START to turn texts back on: "Foyer: You are opted in again for texts about your hotel stay. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out."
- Reply HELP (or INFO) for help. HELP gets one reply naming the hotel you were last texted for, with its front desk number. For example: "Seaside Inn via Foyer: For help, call the front desk at +1 (720) 555-0100. Texts sent by Foyer for Seaside Inn. Reply STOP to opt out."
- Other replies aren't read: the number answers once with your stay page and the front desk. For anything about your stay, use the guest app or call the front desk.
6.Your number#
Mobile numbers and text-message consent are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for their marketing. Only the provider that delivers the texts (Twilio) processes the number, to send them.
