Hotel
Go live checks, where staff alerts go, hotel details, the guest screen, guided requests and opening hours.
The Hotel page holds what the rest of Foyer runs on: the checks before going live, the Telegram chats staff alerts go to, the hotel's details, the desk's guest screen, the questions Phil asks before a request reaches the team, and opening hours. The chips at the top jump to each part.
Who can use it#
- Managers and admins with the Hotel page.
- Making the hotel live and the switches under Go live: admins only. Managers see the checks.
Go live#
- A summary of the checks, for example how many required checks are failing.
- Required: fix these before the hotel can go live. To review: not required. Each check has a button that opens the place to fix it.
- Make the hotel live: an admin presses it once every required check passes, and confirms.
- Offers and journey: the pricing rules, the offers engine switch, and journey messages Off, Shadow or Live. Live needs the hotel to be live first.
The full sequence is in Setting up the dashboard.
Staff alerts#
- Which staff Telegram group each kind of alert goes to: department groups, staff cards per department with an escalation time, the emergency group, the main staff group, the duty manager and system alerts.
- Kitchen groups are set per venue on Venues & menu.
- The emergency group falls back to the main staff group when it is not set.
- Pick a group for each row, or Another group to type a group ID. Save changes asks you to confirm; new alerts go to those chats at once.
- Managers and admins change these. Others see who to ask.
Hotel details#
- Hotel: name, address, front desk phone and emergency phone. Phil gives guests these numbers.
- Guests: Text guests their stay code (where texting is available), and the Google or Tripadvisor review link.
- Stays: check-in from, check-out by, time zone and currency. Time zone and currency lock once room charges use them.
- Booking texts, where available: Text guests about their bookings, and the payment link for phone bookings.
- Room charges: Do you take a card from every guest at check-in? Yes or No, answered by an admin. The answer saves at once, with who answered and when.
- The two switches and the card answer save at once. Everything else saves with Save changes.
Room charges and the card on file#
A guest can charge something to the room only when the hotel holds a card for the stay. A charge goes through when your PMS shows a card or guarantee on the booking; or when you answered Yes to the card question and the guest is checked in; or when the front desk marked that guest Card on file on the Guests page. A stay your PMS closes to charges is never charged. Otherwise the guest is told it can't go on the room bill and is sent to the front desk, and nothing is sent to the team.
Answer Yes only if every guest who checks in leaves a card. With No, or no answer yet, the desk marks a guest Card on file after taking their card. Go live lists the question under To review until it is answered. The same rule is in our Terms of Service, under Room charges and the card on file.
Guest screen#
A tablet on the desk that faces the guest. Add it from that desk's computer with Add guest screen; each screen shows Online or when it was last seen, with Unpair. The same card downloads the hotel QR for printing and an idle image for a payment terminal. Step by step in Desk tablet and sign-in at the desk.
Guided requests#
- What Phil asks before a housekeeping, maintenance or table booking request reaches the team.
- Phil collects these details: when off, the request goes to the team as the guest said it.
- Guests can cancel: until the team marks the request done.
- Up to eight details, each with its kind of answer (text, number, time, day, yes or no, or a choice) and its question, written per language.
- The briefing your team sees and the line Phil says once the details are in. Save changes keeps it; Use default restores the original.
Opening hours#
- Restaurant and bar hours, department hours and amenity hours, in the hotel's time zone.
- Per day: open or closed, with its opening and closing times. Add opening gives a day a second opening, such as lunch and dinner. Set every day copies Monday, opens 24 hours or closes every day.
- A note guests may see.
- Phil quotes these hours and, outside them, tells guests when the team is back.
