How an order flows

From "two burgers to 412" to a line on the room bill.

  1. The guest orders in Dining or in chat. Phil repeats the order and the total and asks for a yes.
  2. On yes the order is saved. It appears on the Orders page under Waiting and as a card in the venue's staff Telegram chat. The guest sees that it is waiting for the hotel.
  3. Staff tap Confirm or Reject. Confirmed is done: the order moves to Decided and there is no separate delivery step. Rejected tells the guest, and nothing is charged.
  4. An order nobody confirms within the hotel's acceptance time (set on the Venues & menu page) closes as not accepted in time. The guest is told and nothing is charged.
  5. The room charge carries its evidence: how stay access was verified, the last four digits of the booking phone, the device and the last lines of the chat.
  6. For orders paid through the room folio, when your team confirms an order, the charge goes on the guest's room bill: Foyer posts it to your PMS once charge posting is switched on for your property, and until then your front desk adds it in the PMS.

Who confirms the charge#

Staff in the front desk or management department, team leads, managers and admins may confirm room charges, and confirming an order confirms its charge in the same tap. When someone without that permission confirms an order (the kitchen, for example), the order is done and its charge waits on the Orders page for the desk to confirm.

With charge posting on, a line your PMS refuses comes back to the Orders page under Room charges, with the reason: open More to retry it in the PMS or mark it done by hand. When an order is cancelled or closed after its charge reached the bill, the charge comes back there with Reverse charge. Foyer never takes or holds guest money.
